Angol nyelvtan 02: What a beautiful car!
A test egyből reagál: a pulzusszám megemelkedik, a lélegzet felgyorsul.
Ebből a videóból kiderül:

What a beautiful car!
Hiya! Do you like cars? I mean beautiful cars? Check out this one here. Now, that’s quite a car, isn’t it? Okay, now picture this:
You’re walking along the street with your friends. And then you see it. A Lamborghini Diablo is parked right in front of you. And in surprise and amazement you exclaim: ’What a beautiful car!’
What does that mean? It simply means: It is a very beautiful car.
Look at this photo here. Wow! What a gorgeous garden!
And look at this one here. What a dirty room! Or this one. What a successful businessman! Or this one. What a boring book!
Got it? Let’s go a bit deeper. Remember that beautiful car? Okay, here we go.
I was walking along the street the other day and then I saw it. There it was, parked in front of me – a Lamborghini Diablo. Man, what a beautiful car it was!
Now, ’What a beautiful car it was!’ simply means: It was a very beautiful car.
So, if you want to say that a friend of yours has a gorgeous garden, you can say: ’What a gorgeous garden she has!’
And if your friend is living in a mess, you would say: ’What a dirty room he is living in!’
And if you talk about Steve Jobs, you might say: ’What a successful businessman he was!’
And sometimes people read boring books. They would say: ’What a boring book I read last week!’
All right. Remember: this structure shows surprise or shock. It shows sudden reaction. You see a car and your reaction is immediate: ’What a beautiful car.’ So, make it big: BEAUtiful CAR!
If you say ’what a beautiful car’, ’what a gorgeous garden’ ’what a successful businessman’, they don’t sound good. Just make it big and important:
’What a BEAUtiful CAR it was!’
’What a GORgeous GARden she has!’
’What a DIRty ROOM he is living in!’
’What a sucCESSful BUsinessman he was!’
’What a BOring BOOK I read last week!’
Great. And this ends our mini-lesson. Now go, practise. And subscribe if you haven’t done so yet. See you soon!
