A Staying in Spain sorozat harmadik részében megmutatom, hányféle szállást találhat egy La Manga-ra látogató turista. A videóban szintén szó lesz várakról, erődökről – no, nem azért, mert olyan sok van ezekből errefelé. Egész más kontextusban hallhatsz róluk, de ez már a videó feladata.

What is a holiday resort? A holiday resort is a place where lots of people go on holiday. Like La Manga is a popoular holiday resort: tourists love it and come here in big numbers to spend their holiday.

Look at the horizon: the skyline. There tall buildings there. What are they? They’re hotels, blocks of flats, villas etc.

We’re staying in La Manga del Mar Menor. This is a lovely holiday resort with all kinds of holiday accomodation like hotels, blocks of flats (apartments), holiday villas etc. There are 4-star hotels here too, but we’re staying in an apartment on the sea shore.

How would you describe this hotel? It’s tall. How many floors are there? Like 20? And the scenery from the top floor? I think that must be magnificent! Very stunning and beautiful. Magnificent.

Look at this picture. What is it? It’s a fortress. And this is a tower. This fortress and the towers are real. They are authentic.

But look at my photo. There are towers on the hotel balconies. They’re not real, of course. They’re are fake. And I don’t like them. These towers are cheesy. Booo! Cheesy!

And this huge tower! Interesting but still cheesy. Like the pyramid of Giza in Las Vegas. It’s fake and not authentic. A pyramid in Las Vegas? It’s cheesy.

La Manga del Mar Menor is like Las Vegas. Beautiful, yes. But at the same time, here and there, it’s cheesy too.
