Trükkös szópárok 08: all … together, altogether

Vajon melyik volt a legnagyobb zenei koncert? Ha a klasszikus zenei koncerteket vesszük, akkor az 1986-os, a New York Filharmonikusok által adott koncert, amelyet a Central Park-ban rendeztek meg a Szabadságszobor újraavatása alkalmából. Összesen kb. 800.000  hallgató élvezte a koncertet.

Ha a könnyűzenei koncerteket vesszük, akkor Rod Stewart koncertje vezet, amely a Copacabana Beach-en került megrendezésre. Ezen a koncerten 3.500.000 résztvevő volt jelen. A hatalmas sikerhez nyilván az is hozzájárult, hogy egy újévi koncertről volt szó.

A bejegyzés videója azonban nem koncertekről szól, hanem arról, hogy hogyan használd az “all… together” és az “altogether” kifejezéseket. Természetesen van kapcsolat a fenti bevezetővel, de hogy mi, azt a videó megtekintése után fogod megtudni.

Hiya. In this video we’re examining two confusing words which are: all… together and altogether. Let’s go for them, shall we?The boys and girls were all wandering together.

They all had fun and enjoyed the day together.

Now, in these sentences you see that he word ‘all’ is connected the the word ‘they’: ‘they all’ which means everyone; and ‘together’ is added to express that they formed a group, meaning with each other.

Here’s another example:We all sat up at the table and had our dinner together.

‘We all’ means every one of us, and ‘together’ means with each other so we formed a group. How about ‘altogether’?

There we about 12.000 students altogether at the demonstration. Here ‘altogether’ shows us the total number.

I had to pay £12.40 altogether. Again, it shows the total amount.
