Hi, in this video we are going to name a couple of sounds. Let’s start with the pictures and the sounds themselves.
Old clocks makes a distinct sound. A sound that fills the place when everything else is quiet. What is the name of this sound? Is the taking of a clock. Good.
When you boil some water to make a cup of tea in a classic tin cattle, like this one, in the picture. You can hear this very particular sound when the water is ready. And the sound you can hear is the singing of the cattle.
Cool, what was that?
It is the sound of a siren. An ambulance was called to an accident I suppose. You can hear the whale of a siren.
Cool. Now let’s put them into a simple story shall we?
The room was dark and quiet. The man was sleeping soundl only the old antique Grandfather’s clock was ticking persistently. Mrs Richards is in the kitchen now making some tea. She just put
the cattle over the fireplace. Soon the water will be ready and the singing of the cattle will wake
up her husband. What a heartwarming sound! But this morning was different. It was
the 13th September of 1939. Suddenly a horrible sound frightened the people in London. The
wailing of the air sirens. The World War II had officially started.
